A warm, traditional Torah community in New Hempstead, NY — led by Rabbi Moshe Degani. All are welcome at our tables.
Tzedakah
Shaarei Tefillah runs an active tzedakah fund supporting needy families and community causes right here in New Hempstead — rent assistance, food and holiday expenses, medical costs, and other emergencies that come up for our neighbors. Requests are handled quietly and with dignity, and every dollar raised stays local.
Congregation Shaarei Tefillah of New Hempstead is recognized as a religious organization and is tax-exempt on that basis, so your donation may be tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Give in honor of a simcha, in memory of a loved one, or simply because it's needed — every amount helps.

Our Kehillah
Shaarei Tefillah — "Gates of Prayer" — has grown into a close-knit davening community where neighbors become family. Whether you're here for a weekday minyan, a Shabbat kiddush, or your first visit to New Hempstead, you'll find a seat at our tables.
Our sanctuary has hosted decades of tefillah, simchas, and shiurim, and our members take an active hand in keeping the shul thriving — from leining and leading davening to running the campaigns that keep our building and grounds in good shape.
"Every gate opens onto the next — come daven with us."
